Gaba Mencia Tinto 2021

Gaba Mencía Tinto is an elegant red wine from the DO Valdeorras in Galicia, in northwestern Spain. Produced by Telmo Rodríguez, this wine is an excellent example of the quality that can be achieved with the little-known Mencía grape variety. The grapes are cultivated in high-altitude vineyards, and their slow ripening contributes to the wine's balance.

In the glass, the Gaba Mencía Tinto displays a bright cherry-red color. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of ripe red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, complemented by subtle notes of bell pepper and aromatic herbs. On the palate, these aromas unfold further, accompanied by good acidity and a long, fruity finish. Its light body and freshness make this wine particularly versatile.

Serving suggestion

This red wine pairs perfectly with light appetizers, semi-aged cheeses, grilled meats, and poultry. It is best served at a temperature of 14–16°C and can also be enjoyed slightly chilled in summer.
