The Family

Solatione

The photo shows our mother Renata, expecting Francesca, our father Renato, and Fabio on the day of his First Communion. It was in 1970 that our father Renato, who had always had a great passion for wine, had the fortunate idea to buy this property in the heart of Chianti Classico, with its perfect location and conditions for growing Sangiovese grapes.

The constant exposure to sunlight inspired our father to name our winery Solatione.

It took two years to make this land suitable for growing wine. Back then, there were no modern machines to make the work easier.

The first harvest took place in 1974. Family and friends were called upon to help us reach this new milestone. It was a wonderful celebration for the whole family, who gathered around the table at the end of the day for a well-deserved meal.

Unfortunately, our father passed away in 1999, but his passion and commitment to this work were passed on to us children, who naturally took over the winery.
