A dedication to viticulture and agriculture in general has always been characteristic of the Frescobaldi family, who have been producing wine in Tuscany for seven hundred years, more precisely, since the early fourteenth century. The family's ancestors also include illustrious writers, researchers, musicians, bankers, bishops, and statesmen.
The family archive houses numerous antique documents, including trade agreements with many European courts dating back to the 13th century. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the Frescobaldi family supplied the English court with wine, as well as many other European countries, including the Vatican. Even before this, the Frescobaldi family had maintained trade relations with famous artists, including Donatello, Michelozzo Michelozzi, and Filippo Brunelleschi.
