The Petit Pittacum Mencía 2023 is an elegant, fruit-forward red wine from the Bierzo wine region in northern Spain. Made from 100% Mencía grapes grown on old vines in the region's hilly terrain, this wine combines freshness, finesse, and character.

Tasting note

On the nose : Intense aromas of ripe red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries and cherries, complemented by fine violet notes and a subtle mineral freshness .

On the palate : Juicy and lively with a beautiful balance of fresh acidity, silky tannins , and a smooth mouthfeel. The fruitiness is rounded off by a hint of spicy herbs and a subtle oak note .

Finish : Medium to long, elegant and pleasantly smooth.

Viticulture & Winemaking

The Mencía grapes come from old vines in small plots with clay and limestone soils.

After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures briefly in oak barrels to preserve its natural freshness and give it additional structure.
