The Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva 2018 is an elegant red wine from the renowned DOCa Rioja. It is made from Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo grapes sourced from vineyards over 30 years old. This wine matures for 32 months in American oak barrels and a further 36 months in the bottle before release.
Primarily Tempranillo , supplemented by Graciano and Mazuelo .
Aged for at least 2.5 years in American oak barrels.
Then another 3 years of bottle aging.
A deep garnet red with slightly brick-red reflections – a sign of mature Rioja wines.
Fruity : Aromas of ripe blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries .
Spicy : Notes of vanilla, cocoa and tobacco from oak barrel aging.
Earthy & Elegant : A hint of leather, mocha and balsamic notes .
Structure : Velvety tannins with well-integrated, fresh acidity.
Body : Full-bodied and harmonious, with fine roasted aromas.
Finish : Long, intense and elegant with a spicy aftertaste.
Serving temperature : 16-18°C
Food pairing : Perfect with game, lamb, aged cheese or Iberian ham .
