Tenuta Luce
The Tenuta Luce winery was founded in 1995 from the dream and determination of two wine visionaries: Marchese Vittorio Frescobaldi from Florence and Robert Mondavi from California. By combining their passion and culture, they wanted to create an exceptional, distinctive wine in the heart of Montalcino. Their sons, Lamberto and Tim, then young oenologists, finally realized their vision by blending Sangiovese and Merlot, thus creating the first wine in Montalcino made from this combination. The unique Luce sun label is inspired by the high altar of the Basilica of Santo Spirito in Florence.
Description
The 2022 Lucente from Tenuta Luce is a Tuscan red wine blend of Merlot and Sangiovese that impressively reflects the character of the sunny vintage. On the nose, notes of pomegranate, dark blackberries, and delicate violets unfold, underscored by spicy nuances. The grapes benefited from a hot summer with well-timed rainfall, resulting in optimal fruit concentration. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and full-bodied, with velvety, ripe tannins. A vibrant freshness lends it dynamism, and the spicy finish leaves a lasting impression. The 2022 Lucente represents approachable sophistication and elegance – a modern expression of its origin.
