Founded in 1981, the Ornellaia winery is synonymous with top-quality Tuscan wines. The 2019 vintage in Bolgheri was characterized by changeable weather conditions. After a mild and rainy winter, a temporary drop in temperature occurred in March, followed by a warm spring. The summer was mixed, with periods of heat and rain, requiring careful vineyard management. These conditions resulted in grapes with outstanding aromatic purity and a balanced structure.
Expansion
The wine matured for 18 months in French barriques (70% new, 30% second use) and for a further 12 months in the bottle before being released to the market.
Color: Intense ruby red with violet reflections.
Bouquet: On the nose, aromas of ripe berries unfold, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla and sweet tobacco.
Palate: The wine presents a velvety smooth texture with an enveloping mouthfeel. The dense yet elegant tannin structure contributes to a flavorful, lingering finish.
