Coto de Caleruega 2024 Roble

The Coto de Caleruega Roble is a fresh, round, and expressive red wine from one of the highest-altitude wine-growing areas in the Ribera del Duero. The extreme climate, the high elevation of the vineyards, and the meticulous vinification process give this wine a remarkable personality. In the glass, it displays an intense cherry red color with violet highlights. The nose is dominated by aromas of red and black berries, accompanied by floral notes like violets and a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, it is juicy, aromatic, and smooth, with soft tannins and a harmonious interplay of fruit and oak.

Serving Suggestion
A versatile food companion, ideal for grilled meat, hearty stews, Iberian sausages, and aged cheese. Thanks to its freshness, it is also perfect for uncomplicated, everyday wine enjoyment. The recommended serving temperature is 16–18 °C.

Origin
The grapes come from our own vineyards in Caleruega, one of the highest locations in the Ribera del Duero at an altitude of 936 to 1,018 meters. The soils consist primarily of limestone with proportions of marl, clay, and sand—ideal for elegant, multi-layered wines. Once considered too cool for viticulture, climate change now provides excellent conditions for the area.

Grape Variety
A classic blend of 96% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) and 4% Merlot. The wine matures for three months in 225-liter oak barrels, which gives it its round structure and fine elegance without losing any freshness.
