Description

Malleolus Emilio Moro 2020

STORY
The word "Malleolus" comes from Latin and means hawthorn, which is the name of the vineyards in Pesquera de Duero. For the production of this wine, we selected grapes from old hawthorn bushes, which are cultivated using glass and trellis systems.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HARVEST

The 2019 growing season began with rainfall in April, but from mid-spring to the end of summer, the year was characterized by low rainfall and above-average temperatures. Harvesting began after a few rainy days, which helped to balance the composition of the grapes, resulting in a year of exceptional quality and optimal health.

Elaboration

It is made from 100% Tinto Fino grapes. This wine undergoes 18 days of maceration on the skins. Its malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, then it matures in French oak barrels before bottling.

TASTING ANALYSIS

A true cherry red. On the nose, it is intense and elegant, dominated by the typical aromas of the variety, nuanced by barrel aging. The quality of the raw material is reflected in the aromatic depth and the wine's excellent development in the glass, where red and black fruits at their optimal ripeness, spices, and balsamic notes harmonize during tasting. On the palate, it is intense and very structured. It presents very long, ripe tannins and a lingering finish.
